Aug 20, 2007 03:52 PM EDTCOLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Tuesday you can help support South Carolina's bravest serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Fort Jackson is collecting items at the Colonial Center before WWE Smackdown starts.
Army personnel will be outside the main entrance with collection bins. The collection drive starts at 6:30pm Tuesday.
Items needed, in order of importance, are as follows:
Drink Mixes to flavor the water like Kool-Aid, Gatorade, & Tang
Sport drinks
Energy Bars
Individual cereal boxes
DVDs (recently released pre viewed DVD movies are fine, TV shows on DVD are great too), Music CDs, & CD storage books Coffee, cocoa, tea, hot cider mix (powdered flavored creamer, too) - not liquids Microwaveable non perishable just-add-water foods like soups and mac-n-cheese
Snacks - candy, trail mix, granola bars, gum, cookies, nuts, popcorn, chips, slim jims, jerky
Pre cooked vacuum packed meats and canned chicken - no pork items
Canned fruit (pop top is best - not the ones with foil lids)
Hair brushes
Deodorant
Lotion (body & face)
Nail files & nail clippers
Hair bands & barrettes for ponytails
Razors & shaving cream
Tampons & feminine pads
Playing Cards, board games, chess, checkers, etc
AA batteries (they have access to all other sizes)
Phone cards
Foot powder
Shampoo, conditioner, Leave-In Spray conditioner
Twin size sheet sets and pillow cases
Towels, wash cloths
Softball gloves, softballs, frisbees, other small outdoor activity items
110V to 220V power converters
Card or homemade sign for the troops
