Georgie-

I attended the Jesse Ventura signing last night at BookEnds in Ridgewood, New Jersey.  We got there around 4:30 or so for a 6:30 signing.  There were already approximately 15-20 people ahead of us on line when we got there, some of which who had been there since early that morning.

The store was very cool about taking pictures with Jesse, and you were permitted to have one item of wrestling memorabilia signed by Jesse for each book your purchased.  I purchased two books and had Jesse sign a magazine and 8x10 for me.  I also took a picture with him.

Jesse started pretty much on time, spoke for a few minutes, took a few questions, and started the signing.  Things moved very orderly and quickly.  I think the turn out was somewhat lighter than expected- in my eyes, there were maybe 100 people tops, and that might be a little generous.

The store was great though and would recommend attending a singing there.

just a quick note about attending that signing. Jesse Ventura was a very polite and gracious man, spent time signing whatever was handed to him along with the book. Aside from the heckler, political group outside the store, the 100 or so that came thorugh all seemed happy to have met the guy.

the people at the store seemed to have tolerated the political group better than what the police might have. They were pissed off about Ventura's politics, and view points on things, and Ventura was at ease while they were there getting the books signed, despite their trying to make him unglued. After a few minutes, the store people removed them from the signing area, to keep the line moving

I had a 1980 AWA program signed as well, he and Adonis on the cover. He remarked about how many of the guys were no longer alive, and what ones that were, what shape they were in today.

Jesse Ventura Book Signing Report

Seldom do I ever attend autograph signings as a fan. Last night I brought my wife and daughter to the Jesse Ventura signing at Bookends. Jesse is someone who I admire for his work outside of wrestling and one of the few "must meets" for me in wrestling. Booking Jesse for a fanfest is just not an option for a few different reasons as I feel he is above that level. We arrived to the 6:30 signing a bit after 5:00 and I was worried I would arrive to at least a few hundred in line. To my surprise there were only about 30 people in line.It scared me that I knew 90% of them by name from our LOTR shows. No sense handing out flyers-LOL It is a shame that a lot of wrestling fans missed out on this rare experience to meet "The Body".  We purchased our books and took our  place in line. It is always a pleasure to talk to our LOTR supporters and get feedback from them in a relaxed atmosphere when I am not running around crazy at a show. At 6:15 we were brought downstairs into a line and Jesse came out a bit early and gave a brief rundown on the book.
He wanted to do a Q and A and interact with the fans but didn't know there was others upstairs waiting to come down to meet him. A few asked him questions in line though. We waited about 10 mins and it was our turn. The Bookends staff was very well organized for this and allowed 1 item and a photo op per book purchased. I was nervous going into this as I don't like crowds or disorganization but  I was very pleasantly surprised.
