After a long and successful career, NYWC's resident lunatic Mikey Whipwreck has decided to hang up the boots on February 28. In his highly decorated career Mikey worked his way up from the bottom of the most "Extreme" company around Extreme Championship Wrestling, to become their first "Triple Crown Champion" by winning each of their titles during his tenure. Mikey was known to put his body on the line in every match and always left the crowd wanting more.
From ECW Mikey moved on to Ted Turner's World Championship Wrestling where he was told his matches were too hot and no one wanted to go on after them in fear of looking inferior to Mikey's high flying, do anything to win style.
From WCW Mikey hit the Independent scene spreading terror,having traveled throughout the world to entertain wrestling fans from many countries.
Having returned to his hometown in Long Island Mikey began training and mentoring many of today's top Independent Stars as well as WWE Superstars at the NYWC Training Center, now formally known as the NYWC Sportatorium,and Mikey's permanent home for the past several years. After capturing several NYWC championship belts with a body that has gone through the proverbial wringer, Mikey has decided to call it quits in his home, The NYWC Sportatorium. So please join us in saying farewell to a Legendary Long Island Wrestler,a man that has sacrificed his body for your enjoyment, a Teacher, Mentor and to many of us a Friend, Mikey Whipwreck.
