WXW’S AFA THE WILD SAMOAN SET TO BE INDUCTED INTO THE WWE HALL OF FAME!

WXW, in conjunction with World Wrestling Entertainment, are proud to announce that AFA, along with his brother SIKA, THE WILD SAMOANS, have been selected for induction into the 2007 class of the WWE Hall Of Fame.  Long anticipated, the announcement was officially made during this week's "WWE Smackdown" broadcast nationally on CW and to a worldwide audience of millions.

The announcement was accompanied by a fantastic video package paying homage to the careers and legacy of the future Hall Of Famers.  Tracing their history back to their origins, the piece gave a quick but effective overview of Afa and Sika's influence through the years.  WWE Chairman Vince McMahon himself appeared in the package, noting the duo's intimidating presence and toughness when they first arrived on the scene.  Even "The Great One" himself, Afa’s nephew The Rock, made a rare appearance, crediting his Uncle Afa with helping to make him the superstar he would eventually become. WXW Heavyweight Champion, Afa’s son The Great Samu, along with his nephew, former WWE superstar Rikishi, were also interviewed for the tribute.

The Wild Samoans are universally regarded as one of the greatest and most influential tag teams of all time.  With three WWE World Tag Team Championships to their name, Afa and Sika competed all over the world, winning an astounding total of 21 Tag Team championships overall.  Their rough, brutal style has been emulated by scores of teams who followed, and their influence has been felt even more directly through the careers of various family members such as former WWE Heavyweight Champions THE ROCK and the late YOKOZUNA, along with THE HEADSHRINKERS, current WWE Superstar UMAGA, and many others.

Since retiring from active competition, Afa has dedicated his life to training the future of professional wrestling.  Through his Wild Samoan Training Center, many hopefuls have developed the skills they needed to become major success stories in the industry.  Notable graduates of the school include World Heavyweight Champion BATISTA, ECW Superstar SNITSKY, Cruiserweight revolutionary BILLY KIDMAN, and many more.

This year's Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place at the storied, 4,000+ seat Fox Theater in Detroit, Michigan on Saturday night, March 31st.  The inductees will also appear in front of over 70,000 fans (and millions worldwide on pay-per-view) the following night as part of the star-studded Wrestlemania 23, taking place in nearby Ford Field.

The Hall of Fame's upcoming 2007 class is already being widely recognized as the strongest yet, boasting the likes of "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, The Sheik, "Mr. Perfect" Curt Henning, Mr. Fuji, Jerry "The King" Lawler and Nick Bockwinkel. Past inductees include Hulk Hogan, The Iron Sheik, Roddy Piper, Bret "Hitman" Hart, and "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka. The Wild Samoans are only the third tag team ever to be inducted, joining the legendary Valiant Brothers and The Blackjacks.
