NEW YORK -

The director of World Wrestling Entertainment Inc., a promoter of wrestling events and other entertainment, sold 3,000 shares of common stock, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing Thursday.

In a Form 4 filed with the SEC, Lowell P. Weicker Jr. reported he sold 3,000 shares on Wednesday for $15.45 to $15.50 apiece.

Insiders file Form 4s with the SEC to report transactions in their companies' shares. Open market purchases and sales must be reported within two business days of the transaction.

World Wrestling Entertainment (nyse: WWE - news - people ) is based in Stamford, Conn.

On Friday, WWE stocks closed at $15.77 which was said to be down 21 cents from the day before.  My statement said $13.35 was a 52 week low and $19.86 was the 52 week high.
