More feedback…..

Hey Georgie,

I wasn't sure if you were taking feedback for the site.  If so, here's mine:

Carlito/Masters vs. Kane/Big Show: Not a bad match. Nothing spectacular. I wouldn't have minded seeing a double choke slam or something high impact.
Although, I must say that when Carlito and Masters took Show up for the double flapjack, it looked like Show pretty much landed on top of Carlito.
Poor guy.
2 out of 5 stars.

MITB Ladder Match: I enjoyed this match. I knew that we would have to rely on Shelton, Hardy, and RVD to make it a true "ladder" match. How about Flair taking the supplex from the top of the ladder?! Say what you want about
Flair (too old, hang it up, etc...) but the guy can still work with the best of them. Finlay shouldn't have even been in the match, whether that slot's wrestler stood a chance of winning or not. I think that Bobby Lashley is a
GREAT talent. They completely used him the wrong way in this match. He should have been throwing the guys all around the arena. Instead, what do they have him do? Bump, lay around for 3 min. Bump, lay around for 4 min.,
blah blah blah. Did anyone else think that RVD's "big splash" was umm, how do I say, less than expected? Maybe it was Finlay's fault for setting himself up so close to RVD's ladder, but here I was thinking that he was
going for Hardy (and if you watched closely, you could see Hardy pushing the ladder that was close to him away almost as if he was telling RVD to go for him) who was 3/4 of the way across the ring and instead, he basically just FALLS on Finlay. Shelton was spectacular! Loved the "climb the ladder" senton bomb to the outside. He stumbled off of his launch and it almost turned ugly. Nice recovery and he hit the move perfectly! The "Spider Man"
jump onto the ladder was unexpected. Scared the crap out of me! He literally came out of nowhere!
3.5 out of 5

If Howard Finkle saying "Bret Hart was 'uncomfortable' appearing tonight" was just to lead people on and make them think that Bret was going to do something, it worked!!! Well, at least for me. Not funny Fink, not funny at all!

JBL vs. Benoit: Who cares? Who cares? Who cares? Geez, when are they going to realize that JBL CAN'T WORK?!?! Has he packed on the pounds or what?
Every time Benoit chopped him, it looked like someone dropped a stone into a pond with all the ripples. This was a complete sleeper. They could have filled this slot with something else completely (insert "Austin/Hogan" chant
here). What was the point in having Benoit go through all he did with that best of seven series, if you're just going to strip it off of him the next chance you get? Oh wait, I'm sorry, it's believable, I believe it!
1 out of 5 (and that's only because Benoit carried the match)

Edge vs. Foley: Good hardcore match? Yes. Defining Mick Foley moment? No.
This guy has been dropped on dynamite, set on fire, had his ear torn off, had teeth shoot through the roof of his mouth, had countless concussions, fallen off and through hell in a cell, and taken 20+ consecutive, HARD chair
shots (directly to his skull) and you're telling me that falling through a flaming table did the trick? Don't think so. Edge showed a good side of himself. How over as a heel do you have to be before someone in the "Double
Soy Latte" creative meeting realizes it?!
3.5 out of 5

Booker T./Sharmell vs. Boogeyman: humorous, but that's about it. Boogeyman is pretty over. They should have made it more of a squash than it was.
Booker wouldn't have lost any credibility. Nothing great.
2 out of 5

Trish vs. Mickie James: Can you say "awkward finish?" I can. If you miss a spot, you usually can just work it off, but this was the spot for the finish. Mickie should have went for it again. Not bad all around.
3.5 out of 5

Mark Henry vs. The Undertaker: did Mark Henry even show up? They need to send this guy back to Ohio Valley for the umpteenth time. He CAN'T work.
Props to 'Taker for heaving that big oaf up for the Tombstone!
4 out of 5 (because I'm a BIG mark for 'Taker)

McMahon vs. Michaels: How many times in this match did you think that Bret was actually going to come out and do something? GREAT hardcore match! Loved every minute. I thought it was interesting to see the old "DX" side of Shawn again. A note to Vince: add a couple more zeros to the check that you've been offering Bret! The people want to see him at least come back and give
you a chair shot! Well, I know I do.
4 out of 5

Angle vs. Orton vs. Mysterio: To be honest, I didn't even see the match. My friend and I decided to go get some food. I heard that Mysterio won.
WHAT?!?! I know that Rey is a GREAT worker and I have all the respect in the world for him but can they legitimately keep the strap on him? Orton or Angle should have won...period. I know, it's WWE...but still. And for crying out loud, let Eddie rest in peace. I don't care if his family approves, a majority of the fans don't. When Owen passed away, you didn't see Bret going out week after week and incorporating Owen into his storyline. Maybe I'm alone in this, but I don't know.
3 out of 5 (benefit of the doubt)

Candice vs. Torrie: Who cares? The only person who will remember this match a week from now will be Lawler!
2 out of 5 (one for each...well, you know)

Cena vs. Triple H: That was the most electric I've seen a crowd in years!!!
When an audience puts that much emotion into a match, you gotta know that they're trying to tell you (creative team) something. I enjoyed it when Cena and HHH were exchanging blows back and forth and for every blow that HHH landed, the crowd cheered like crazy, and for every blow that Cena landed, they booed equally loud. When HHH popped up and avoided the "5 Knuckle Shuffle" and instead gave Cena a spine buster, that was GREAT!!! When HHH hit Cena with the sledgehammer, he turned face instantaneously, like it or not. He WILL get cheered tonight...no doubt!
4.5 out of 5 (thanks to HHH and the crowd)

Not a bad show. I wouldn't have complained about parting with the $50.00+ for it.

God Bless,  Dan

I'm not going to go into detail on every match, as I am still drained from last night, but here are my thoughts.

Money in the Bank was just that, MONEY!!!  Benjamin once again stole the show this year, with the insane Ladder run and spider-man leap.  Flair gets props for coming back after jamming his knee on that sick looking suplex bump.  I know I'm not the only one saying this, but...FINLAY???  Seriously, they should have had someone more believable in this match, like sayyy, ANYONE!!!  Congrats to RVD on the win, and finally getting a push!

Mickey James and Trish was one of the best Divas matches I've seen in some time.  Botched finish or not, this match was incredible, and the "lick spot" was totally unexpected and had to be seen to be believed.

HBK was once again the "Showstopper".  Good to see the HBK of old, complete with the DX Crotch chops, which got a huge pop, not only live but at my house! lol  Like him or not, Vinnie Mac put in one hell of a performance for being 60 years old, and the finish was insane...much like...

...Foley vs Edge.  Would have been nice to see the old Cactus, but the spear into the barbed wire covered Foley was great, and it really showcased the Rated R Superstar as a true hand for years to come.  Another big pop, not only for the match, but the classic Joey Styles "OH MY GOD!!!!" on the table dive.

The title matches were good, the Triple Threat could have gone longer, but respect to WWE for putting the gold on Rey Rey, he earned it.  Cena vs The Game was interesting, not so much for being a technical masterpiece, but more for the crowd reaction, do I smell a double turn?

Boogeyman and Booker and the pillow fight should have been left for Smackdown and Raw respectively, but I have to say, the "Freak Segment" before Booker and Sharmell came out was hilarious, but other than that, both matches fell flat.

I'm not even going to go into the casket match, to predictable and short.  And that, like it or not, is my opinion!

The opening video for Wrestlemania was incredible. Showing some of the superstars past and present. It was great. On to the matches.
Big Show/Kane vs. Carlito/Masters
Thought it was a pretty good match to start the show.I thought Masters and Carlito were going to win. That just tells you that Big Show and Kane are unstopable.
MITB2
I knew that Benjamin and Hardy were going to utilize the ladders more than the rest of them. I figured RVD would have too, but I guess not. I was pulling for Flair, but RVD winning it makes me realize he deserved it the most.
Foley vs. Edge
Unbeleivable match. Great to see Foley hasn't lost his touch. This match in my mind stole the show.
Mickie vs. Trish
The best divas match That I've ever seen. If the they didn't miss that spot at the end than this could have been the greatest divas match ever in other people's mind.
JBL vs Benoit
Nothing really to say besides JBL won.
Undertaker vs. Henry
Easy win for Taker.
Boogeyman vs. Booker/Sharmell
Longest Boogeyman match ever.
Wilson vs. Michelle
I can't believe it was on after the World Title match.
Michaels vs. McMahon
This match was great. Every spot they did told a story. Shawn Michaels did it again.
Angle vs. Rey vs. Orton
All I can say is that Rey deserves it.
 Cena vs. HHH
Triple H's Entrance was awesome. Way better than Cena's. I loved it that everyone was booing Cena. I can't stand him. When he won that really made me angry. HHH doesn't need to do a job for Cena. Cena Sucks.
From start to HHH entrance it was a great show. The matches that stole the show were Foley vs. Edge, Mickie vs. Trish, and Michaels vs. McMahon.
Thank you, Matt Vides

Here's my take on Wrestlemania 22.... From gilmourwaters03:

The show as a whole wasn't bad..but wasn't great..yet again.  It's been soooo long since there was a great Wrestlemania

The tag team championship match..who cares??  It's not like there's any other teams around!...but I gave it a C

Foley/Edge...I still can't believe they made Edge beat Foley at his own game! Foley needs to completely retire from the wwe.  His time is looong gone.  It was also pretty mild as far as hardcore "cactus jack" style matches go.. I gave it a C+

JBL/Beniot...waste of time from the opening bell....Fat slob vs Benoit just doesn't cut it at wrestlemania....I gave it a D-

Money in the Bank match..LOVED IT!About time RVD got some recognition from the wwe..I gave it a B

Booker T/Boogeyman match...actually painful to watch.  And that error at the end wth the SLOOOOOOOOY finish just put the exclaimtion point to a match they shouldv'e abandoned...I gave it a D-

Trish Stratus/Mickey James...not a bad match..despite Mickeys mistakes in the ring.Not surprised she won....i gave it a C

Mark Henry/Undertaker...pretty much a pointless match lacking excitement.  Mark has ABSOLUTELY NO WRESTLING TALENT WHAT-SO-EVER..and the undertaker is definitely showing signs of aging/wear and tear.  Undertaker should seriously consider calling it a career soon and not fall into the rick flair syndrome.  He's not nothing more to prove..he's a legend and a definite HOF'er.  Not that WWE HOF means a thing anymore since they inducted EDDIE and THE FRIDGE....Go out on top Taker!..  Anyway I gave the match a C

Shawn Micheals/Vince..Started off weak but quickly turned into 1 great match! Shawn looked great! I gave the match a B+

Mysterio/Orton/Angle....This was strictly an exploitaion match..nothing more.Vinces way to squuze every last drop out of Eddies death he could.I knew it was gonna happen...and I braced for it at the end.  Vince made Rey win.....so now the Eddie exploitation train chugs on! Brace yourselves for endless speeches about how Eddies spirit helped Rey win.  The capper was Eddies wife standing on the walkup to congradulate Rey... What now vince..she going to be Reys new mgr so you can really get some good exploitation time?? What a joke! but no matter..A cruiserweight CAN'T hold the heavyweight title long..Unless you work for vince that is.  Hopefully Batista comes back VERY SOON and he'll get the belt back ...F from start to finish

Torrie/Candice match.....nice piece of filler match..no real point to it except to keep guys attention going while the main eventers get ready.Couldv'e been a bit longer! C

HHH/Cena....What  a MATCH! Definitely the best of the night! Shocking how the fans booed Cena...even more shocking that HHH allowed himself to lose! Will Cena turn HEEL?? That's my guess..B+

From  kowwf:
Overall I thought it was an awesome PPV .

i like Shawns little attitude change during his beatdown of mr. mcmahon(how many of us would like to beat the tar out of our bosses?) i'm gueesing mcmahon needed stitches in his head after his match and him giving the bird from the gurney had the group us watching it my place  ROTFL!!

undertaker 14-0, was glad to see him win, i just wish his opponent mark henry would have shown up, mark no sold so much and was totally horrible last night.

ladder match was really good,  ric flair looked to be legit hurt and i'm not surprised as he's 57 yrs old and should have retired a number of years ago.  congrats to RVD for the win.

the boogeyman continues to turn my stomach with his worm eating-but, with what he did to sharmell at the end i did get a good chuckle. booker t needs some respect.

triple threat match was great i was so happy to see rey rey win.

tag title match was predictable

womens title match was great i was upset that the psychotic with mickie won but trust me--trish will get her revenge.

playboy pillow fight--two words =potty break!! this "match was ok but kinda sloppy torrie is very pretty and chloe is adorable. candace is just plain annoying.

triple h and cena was good the crowd had me laughing cheering triple h and booing cena. i was very surprised when triple h tapped out i thought for sure he'd win and then keep the belt for a few weeks anfd the nlose it in a match resulting in an "injury" for him when steph gets closer to her due date.

seeing the 2006 hall of fame class was  nice  i just  wish bret would have come out and acknowledeged the people . bret didn't even mention jimmy hart or the hart foundation during his speech at the hall of fame ceremony-- I was very suprised at that. regarding the hall of fame ceremony, I didn't see the first 2 hours but watched the last hour on USA  and noticed something when they showed the one row Linda Mcmahon, was there sitting next to a quite pregnant Stephanie  and Triple H, but noticably absent (unless he was in the back) was Vince Mcmahon and also Shane McMahon and Marissa  McMahon weren't there either.  (kinda surprised as he is the heir apparent to the wwe)

Nice to see shawn and triple h teasing the crowd with  the DX  chop last night as well..

 Georgie:
Couple of Observations after flying home from WM22.
The Meadowlands Arena is a helluva lot closer to NYC then the Allstate(Rosemont Horizon) is to Chicago. It's easier to hail a cab in NYC during a Transit strike then it was to get one outside of the arena last night during a rainstorm. Verne Gagne mistook the Fridge's ovation for his own....While I like smaller venues in general, what's next the Worcester Centrium, Richmond Coliseum.....these mid-major arenas just don't cut it......Last time I was at the Horizon, it was Bruiser/Crusher vs the Road Warriors and Martel vs Robinson in the main event.....I gave the show a 7.5...
ROH the night before an 8......and yes I'll be in Detroit next year though probably will stay in Windsor Canada.

From Chris Wyatt in Australia:

OK, im not goona do a match by match run down like others, i think we pretty
much get the jist of what happened now.  Just have a couple of thoughts id
like to share.
I believe WWE put on a fantastic show at Wrestlemania 22, no doubt.  Still
however they are convinced that the entertainment side of wrestling still
interests people.  Sure storylines help build matches, but why do we need to
sit and watch Boogeyman matches and playboy pillow fights at Wrestlemania.
It is the one PPV of the year where the matches take precedence over
storylines, and the pay per view is actually judged on the quality of the
card and the matches. This aspect was the only thing that let it down for
me.

To be critical, Orton really should have won the triple threat, i have
nothing against rey but he cant carry the title for long.  Expect him to
drop the belt to orton in the coming months, for an orton batista feud when
big dave gets back. (BTW im not a Batista fan, the guys so damn awkward)

Now that i think about it, WWE had no choice but for Cena to hold the title.
If he had dropped it to trips there would be nowhere for his gimmick and
"never back down" attitude to go.  They would just be conceding that Cena
does have very little in ring ability, which would never happen.  Since when
has WWE admitted to making a mistake?  BTW i was blown away by the main
event, not on total match quality (though it wasnt bad) but by the sheer
emotion of the match and the crowd wanting their specific favourite to win.
I have been a wrestling fan since the late 80's and i dont think i have ever
seen a match like that in my life, and may never again.

Congrats to WWE for putting on a heck of a show, just wanted to share a couple of these thoughts with you.  I hope we one day soon see TNA really take off, they have a top quality product and those guys can work matches better than 65% of the WWE roster.  But, any other wrestling company past or present will never have 3 things that are crucial to the WWE's success:
WrestleMania, the Royal Rumble and Vince McMahon
Peace.

I loved it. it was finally the way wrestling is supposed to be.
One great match after another and no talking and no stupid
storylines. I loved the match with shawn and vince and the
way shawn beat down vince and shane. after what vince
put shawn through for the last few months it is good to
see not only vince get what he deserves but see the old
shawn again. I loved seeing the dx chop again and also
seeing hhh do it also. I wish that we could see the old
shawn come back and team with hhh and bring back
dx.
I am fed up with seeing vince and shane give hell
to shawn and now he is going with the God angel and
mocking Shawn's religon. He is going to far, you do not
mock a person's religon. thank you ....Kathleen Madonia

Kathleen, I agree with you 100%, bringing regilion into wrestling just isn't right.  No place for it at all.  But since when has Vince McMahon done what's right.  Mr. Controversy !!!!

I would like to post more opinions of WrestleMania 22.  Send them along to:  [email protected]
