…..

I received a quick note from Jimmy Valiant, who informed me that he and his lovely wife Angel are going to Hawaii on January 2nd for 6 days.  He wanted me to wish everyone a very Happy New Year and thanks for ordering his book.

Chris Jericho posted this on his MySpace.com page:
For those of you unaware my mother recently passed away. These past couple months have been quite stressful. Things with my acting, and my band Fozzy have been going great, but my personal life not so well. I have lost two people Im close to...Eddie Guerrero and my mother. My prayers go out to both of them and to Eddies family. The question I've been getting most asked is if Im coming back to the WWE...
Wrestling is something in my blood. Times are hard, but I must continue to do what I love. When I perform or wrestle I get a high adrenaline rush and I love it. I escape from my problems. Whether Im beeing booed or cheered I love what I do. Im taking only a BREAK from wrestling....but expect me back
On another note I have been bribed to advertise this group. So Jerichoholics...even if your not egotistical..I ask that you join

Thanks to D. Cutting for this article:
The December 30th edition of the Cambridge Times newspaper features an
excellent article about Canadian Indy wrestler "The Sport" Jessy Jones.
In the article, Jones talks about the challenges that he faced when he decided
to enter the wrestling business, why he turned down a chance to get noticed
by WWE, working as a face in one promotion while working as a heel in
another, his nickname and much more.

PWX KICKS OFF 2006 SCHEDULE AT PALISADES JANUARY 7th
NWA Pro Wrestling Express begins the 2006 event schedule with the
first event of the year on Saturday January 7th, at the historic
Palisades, in downtown McKeesport.  Doors open for the event at 7:30
pm, and as always, tickets are only $10 for ringside, $9 general
admission, and $6 for kids twelve and under.  Adult beverages will be
available to PWX wrestling fans over 21 years of age with proper ID.

Matches already signed for this card include...

TITLE VERSUS TITLE MATCH!!!
"Hangman" CRUSHER HANSEN puts the PWX Heavyweight Championship on the
line against Three Rivers Champion "Sexual Icon" ERIC EXTASY
Both titles will be on the line in this match, with the winner
walking away with two championship belts.  Eric Extasy has undergone a
drastic change in character since his return to the NWA last summer,
and the fans have responded to Extasy in full force.  Extasy has
proven to be one of the toughest and gutsiest competitors in
Pittsburgh, but he came up short in his first encounter with Hansen,
in December's "Ultimate Resolution Match" at "New Year's Knockout".
Will Extasy have what it takes to defeat the three-time Heavyweight
Champion on January 7th?
The reigning champion Hansen has made no secret that he wants to
take the Three Rivers title from Extasy, and when this match was
originally signed in December, Hansen said he wanted the title simply
out of greed.  Now, after cleanly pinning Extasy in the middle of the
ring, what motivates Hansen?  "I'm going to take Extasy's title,
simply because I can," said Hansen, who has never held the Three
Rivers Championship.
This is an intense main event to kick off 2006!  Do not regret
missing this match by not being at the Palisades on January 7th!

TWO-OUT-OF-THREE FALLS GRUDGE MATCH!!!
PAUL ATLAS squares off with "#1" DARON SMYTHE
This rivalry has been about one thing: respect.  On January 7th
two bitter foes square off over that issue, as so many men have done
before.  Paul Atlas is the most decorated wrestler in PWX history.
After a year long retirement, he has returned to the ring with the
mission of pounding the hard lesson of respect into the next
generation of competitors.
As a young pup in the NWA, Daron Smythe fought alongside Atlas in
many battles, and does not understand why Atlas feels he needs a
lesson in respect.  In fact, Smythe says that he respects Atlas more
than any wrestler on the PWX roster.  This clash in attitudes has not
only led to the two men squaring off in the ring, but both men gaining
wins over the other in brilliant technical wrestling matches.  This
match has signed because both men agreed to the stipulation of a "Best
of Three Falls" match.  The first man to gain two pinfalls on his
opponent will walk away the winner, but will they walk away with the
respect of their opponent?

TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Rage's QUINN MAGNUM & BRANDON K defend the titles against 987's CHRIS
TAYLOR & DEVIN DEVINE
The tag team scene in Pro Wrestling Express is heating up, and
Rage has the prize everyone else is after - the PWX Tag Team
Championship.   Scott Venom thought he had Rage trumped when he forced
Brandon K to defend the titles alone against two of the top tag teams
in PWX without his partner, but K got the last laugh when he won the
match, and retained the titles for Rage.  Quinn Magnum is ready to
return to the ring, and he is angry and looking to get his hands on
anyone from 987 who crosses his path.  "Mr. 21st Century Chris Taylor
and "King of Men" Devin Devine have stepped up to the plate and
demanded a title match with the champs, and are looking to bring the
tag titles home to 987, to go along with Crusher Hansen's Heavyweight
Championship.  At the 11th Anniversary show in September, Rage walked
out of the arena with both championships; will 987 kick off 2006 with
a complete reversal of fortunes?  Could this be the last appearance
for Magnum and K in PWX, if they lose the titles, and are sent packing
like Rage member Scottie Gash?

Plus, other top competitors in the National Wrestling Alliance
will be in action, including "Big Stiff" SETH JAMES, "Soviet Shooter"
NIKITA ALLANOV, Brass Knuckles Champion Devil Bhudakahn and
Apocalypse's EISEN DRACHE and JAKE GARRETT, "Stab Master Arsonist"
BIGG, and more of your favorites!

The historic Palisades is located at 501 Water Street, in the
heart of downtown McKeesport's business district, along the banks of
the  Youghiogheny River.  Located minutes from the Lincoln-Penn
Parkway, the Pennsylvania Turnpike, and I-70 in the eastern suburbs of
Pittsburgh, PA! Just blocks from the intersection of PA SR 48 and PA
SR 148, Renzie Park, and Olympia Shopping Center, the Palisades will
be the place to be for wrestling action in the Pittsburgh area this
winter.
