A News Statement Issued From SCI FI- ECW: Extreme Championship Wrestling On SCI FI Is #1 In Households On Tuesday, August 15th
New York- August 18, 2006-  ECW has remained consistent throughout its summer run, averaging a 2.3 household rating, ranking as one of SCI FI's highest rated weekly programs. It has consistently been one of the top-rated programs in prime time on Tuesday among male teens and one of the top-rated cable programs in households.
In its 10 week run, ECW has been among the top 3 rated prime time programs on ad-supported cable television 5 times since its premiere on June 12, 2006.
The ECW premiere has brought more than 1.8 million new viewers to the SCI FI Channel.  43% of ECW's premiere audience had not watched the SCI FI Channel during the prior 4 weeks.
SCI FI Channel is a television network where "what if" is what's on.  SCI FI fuels the imagination of viewers with original series and events, blockbuster movies and classic science fiction and fantasy programming, as well as a dynamic Web site (www.scifi.com) and magazine.  Launched in 1992, and currently in 85 million homes, SCI FI Channel is a network of NBC Universal, one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies.

I have a request from my dear friend Valerie in England:
She would like to get in touch with Alfredo Travieso and Wolverine from Rhode Island.  If anyone has their email addresses, could you please send them to me @ [email protected]  Thanking you in advance.

I received a note from Jason with news on Stacy Keibler
Hey-      I work at Warner Bros. in Burbank, CA., and happened to notice that Stacy Keibler was on the call-sheets for today, for the "George Lopez Show."  She is playing a character (the name escapes me at the moment), and apparently this will be a recurring role. Apparently her deal with ABC has landed her on this already-established, highly-rated program.    -Jason

Thanks to Bob for this Stacy Keibler link of photo's at the Sugar Boutique One Year Anniversary 8/17 in Los Angeles, CA.    WireImage: Listings

Thanks to Mike Informer for the Brooke Hogan Interview on IGN

Another article from Mike Informer is from Citizens Voice -
The Softer Side of "The Animal"
Standing a perfectly ripped 6-feet, 5-inches, Dave Batista
tosses his opponents around like rag dolls in the WWE’s
wrestling ring. His persona is that of a raging bull. Is it any
wonder he has earned the moniker — The Animal?

Thanks to Mike Informer for sending in this article on Nitro

                     NITRO

WHEN:
Aug. 25, 7:30 p.m.
WHERE:Canton Memorial
Civic Center.
TICKETS: $41, $31 and $21, on sale at Ticketmaster and the Civic Center box
office.
Growing up in Southern California, the boy who would become Johnny Nitro was a
big pro-
wrestling fan.
His hero? Randy “Macho
Man” Savage.
“I liked Macho Man just ’cause he was flashy and in your
face and always jumping off the top rope,” Nitro recalls. “He was athletic and he wasn’t afraid to tell everybody how
great he was.”
An up-and-comer with World Wrestling Entertainment
(WWE), Nitro, 26, has a similar cocky confidence about him.
Some would label it arrogance. He enters the ring as if
strutting a Hollywood premiere red carpet, often in a full-
length fur coat, his sexy sidekick Melina always at his side.
On Aug. 25 at Canton Memorial Civic Center, Nitro will
attempt to hang onto his Intercontinental Title in a triple-
threat match against Shelton Benjamin and Carlito. The WWE Raw Live event also stars Edge, John Cena and Kane.
I talked with Nitro on the telephone Wednesday morning and the interview was the typically awkward yet amusing blend
of genuine conversation and pro-wrestler bravado.
You think you can win this thing Saturday night?
I’m the champion for a reason — because I always win.
Shelton is one of the greatest athletes in World Wrestling
Entertainment and Carlito is also a great ahlete. But neither of them are good enough to have the hottest diva in pro
wrestling to hang out with all the time.
She’s going to be there ringside.
I imagine Melina attracts a lot of attention when you’re out
in public.
Everywhere we go. I have to fight ’em off with a stick. But
it’s alright, I attract a lot, too. Guys who have little
confidence issues are scared when they see me walking with her.
How did you meet Melina?
I met he when we were in L.A. auditioning for (MTV wrestling reality series) “Tough Enough 3.” She didn’t get on the show but (WWE) signed her for a developmental deal. When she
got here to Louisville, I didn’t waste much time. I scooped
her up pretty quick.
Louisville, Ky.? Do you live there?
I don’t really live here, but I spend a lot of time here. World Wrestling Entertainment’s developmental system is here. It’s where you pay your dues and where you hopefully get
picked and put on the show when you’re deemed worthy.
So it’s kind of like WWE University.
It’s more like the minor leagues of baseball.
I bet it’s very competitive, pro wrestling.
There are probably hundreds of thousands of guys trying to
figure out how to make it. (WWE) is looking for people with a lot of charisma and natural personality and obviously people who are athletic, but they’re really looking for a strong work ethic.
I imagine you’ve really got to be on your game in the WWE.
It’s the most competitive thing I’ve ever done. You make it
to Louisville and you think you’ve made it. Then you make it
onto “Smackdown” and you think you’ve made it. Then you
win the intercontinental title and you think you’ve made it.
You have to constantly prove yourself every week.
Weren’t you part of a tag team at first?
Yeah, it was called MNM, which stood for Mercury, Nitro and Melina. We were on “Smackdown” for a year but Joey
(Mercury) wasn’t cutting it, so we had to give him the boot and move on and up.
Did you watch a lot of wrestling as a kid?
Pretty much everybody growing up is a big fan, you know. I
liked wrestling, roller derby, kung fu movies, pretty much anything to do with fighting, to my parents’ dismay. They didn’t mind me watching it, but having roller derbies and breaking
my arm and breaking my friend’s ankle and having
Wrestlemania in the backyard, that kind of stuff they didn’t
like so much.
What were you doing before “Tough Enough” and WWE?
I was a college student at the University of California. I was a film major. I made a bunch of short kung fu movies.
Have you had a lot of injuries in the ring?
I get a lot as far as bruises, sprains, cuts, things like that. I’m pretty bulletproof though, good genetics I guess. I don’t get injured.
Better knock on wood as you say that, Nitro!
Yeah. I’m probably going to break my neck next week.
Pro wrestling is pretty tough physically, right?
It’s a lot more difficult than people think, probably because what you’re watching is the very best doing what they do
best.
