Wanted to share an email I recently received:
"Replacing WWE Classics with The Bimbo Search Finals is like replacing Bruno Sammartino with Barry Horowitz. Do you know how many weeks MSG Classics will be pre-empted? That's the highlight of the week for me wrestling-wise. lol.  from Mike"

I too missed seeing MSG Classics tonight.  It is returning next week.

I just updated the Autograph Sessions Page for about the sixth time. I want to thank everyone for their help in keeping it so updated.  You guys are the BEST !!!!

Layla Le of Miami, FL. won the 2006 WWE Diva Search and the winner of $250,000-  Jen came in second and JT came in third...  Layla already has photo's up on her myspace site.

With everything on the line, the Marine will stop at nothing to carry out his toughest and most important mission.

A big feature in yesterday's edition of the Orlando Sentinel newspaper on the Between The Ropes radio show and the recent book, Between The Ropes: Wrestling's Greatest Triumphs and Failures. Here's the link to the online version off the Sentinel website....
In the actual paper, the article appears on page 2 of the sports section with a big, bold headline and a large photo of BTR host Brian putting renowned area columnist Jerry Greene in a hammerlock as well as an inset photo of the BTR book. Jerry Greene wrote the piece, which reviews the book, interviews the hosts, and discusses the long-term success of the radio show, which enters year nine next week.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Observer:
Donald Lortie, who wrestled with Tony Gonzales in Alabama during the 60's as The Masked Medics, passed away last week at the age of 75.
He passed away on 8/5  See Obit:

It is a link to Ric Flair Finance website:  Ric Flair Finance
Looks to me, like a work in progress.  The About Us link at this time isn't working.  About Ric and Contact Us are the same page, and the Log In page is in another language. It is copyright 2006, so as I said, it must be a work in progress.
UPDATE:  The site is registered to a Chris Porter, and
he is a business partner of Ric's.

I received a note from Bob Orton, Sr's. daughter Rhonda.  She informed me that she would be taking her Dad's ashes to Mt. Charleston about 40 minutes from Las Vegas during the CAC Reunion in April 2007.  There are several who would like to be a part of it, and of course, her brother Bobby and his Wife will be coming too.  She also reminds everyone to PLEASE sign the Bob Orton Guest Book in Kansas.

Funk's Corner - FC Girls Shine on Monday Night.
Monday was a big day for Funking Conservatory alumni girls.
Lita and Mickie James both who have trained at the Funking Conservatory in Ocala, Florida battled it out on Raw for the WWE Women's Championship with Lita winning the coveted championship belt with some help from Edge who is an alumni of the "Dory Funk Method" of training for professional wrestling. Together, Edge and Lita left the ring with two of the most important belts in WWE.
On the same day, Funking Conservatory Head Referee, Claudia "The Claw" Reiff was the referee on TNA's EXPLOSION syndicated TV show, officiating the match between Sonjay Dutt and A1.
All three girls work very hard and are committed to their careers in professional wrestling. They all had to fight hard to achieve so much in the wrestling business.
We have video on our website of Lita "Amy Dumas" winning a battle royal at the Funking Conservatory. We have a slide show of The Claw officiating on TNA's EXPLOSION and a very popular photo shoot of Mickie James. www.dory-funk.com.

If you are going to SummerSlam, make plans for the night before to attend NECW's biggest event ever!  New England Championship Wrestling celebrates it’s 6th Anniversary with the biggest event in it’s history – BIRTHDAY BASH 6 – taking place this Saturday night, August 19th at the National Guard Armory, 1000 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA with a 7:00 PM bell time.
NECW’s anniversary event, BIRTHDAY BASH, is the company’s biggest annual event.  This year, BIRTHDAY BASH 6 is an even bigger milestone.  Last March, New England Championship Wrestling and PWF Mayhem, two of the leading wrestling promotions in the region, announced a merger with the two organizations joining forces and operating under the New England Championship Wrestling name.  The NECW and PWF Mayhem Championships were kept separate until all pending challenges were addressed.  On Saturday night, August 19th, all NECW & PWF titles will be unified in a champion vs. champion event.
The main event will feature NECW Heavyweight Champion, D.C. Dillinger, managed by Sean Gorman, facing PWF Mayhem Heavyweight Champion, “The Human Nightmare” Evan Siks, with the winner crowned the first ever undisputed, NECW Triple Crown Champion. This match has just been announced as a no disqualification, no countout, no time limit match.  There must be a winner and a Triple Crown Champion will definitely be crowned.
PWF Mayhem Tag Team Champions, The Canadian Superstars (J Busta & Dave Cole), managed by Brian Cairo will take on the newly crowned NECW Tag Team Champions, The Wild Boys (Mike Lynch & Billy King) to determine the unified tag team champions.
NECW Television Champion, “Big Guns” Frankie Arion will face off with arch nemesis, PWF Mayhem Junior Heavyweight Champion, “The Talent” T.J. Richter to crown a unified television champion.
Just announced, there will be a rematch from this past Sunday's World Women's Wrestling Championship main event as Nikki Roxx defends the WWW Championship against Ariel - this time in a 2 out of 3 falls match.  If you missed the incredible battle between these two this past Sunday night,  that bout alone was worth the price of admission.  Now this 2 out of three falls championship battle is a part of BIRTHDAY BASH 6.
In other bouts, there will be a rematch of this year's IRON 8 Championship Final, as former NECW  Heavyweight Champion, "Hurricane" John Walters, 2006 IRON 8 Champion, "Die Hard" Eddie Edwards, former PWF Heavyweight Champion, Jason Blade and former WWE star and NECW Tag Team Champion, Antonio "The Promise" Thomas collide in a special elimination match to determine the #1 contender for the NECW Triple Crown Championship.
Plus "The Exotic" Kristian Frost battles "Straight Edge" Brian Fury in a battle of former NECW Tag Team Champions.  And in a tag team match to determine the #1 contender for the unified tag team titles, 2D Edge (Jose Perez & Pat Masters) face the team of Kid Mikaze & Scott Reed.
Tickets for NECW's BIRTHDAY BASH 6 can be purchased at all Strawberries locations, K.C.'s Sports Cards, 33 Temple Street in Quincy Center and online at www.NECWwrestling.com.
