WRESTLING CHATTERBOX UPDATE FOR JUNE 22nd

…..

I have received a ton of replies for tickets for the Juggalo Gathering.  Hurry and get your emails in, if interested in going.  I will be picking a winner beginning of next week.

John Cena appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien show last night.
They did plug Vengeance PPV and showed a video clip of Cena giving The Big Show the FU. Cena appeared with a nice black eye and he called Sabu "The Genie"  (I have to tell you I have been very impressed with the push for Sabu, and his performance with the company. He has hit most of his high spots with perfection.  This is Sabu of old, and being a huge Sabu fan, I am loving every minute of it !!) Cena said the genie put him under a spell by hitting him with a television monitor and then he did a super jump off the ring onto the table. They also talked about Cena's clothes, pretty decent interview, but not too much publicity for WWE PPV.

Thanks to Mike Informer for these Smackdown Pre-empts

Thanks to Bob for sending me this link for ECW tickets.
ecw Tickets  Expensive but they have front row seats.
There are changes AGAIN, I will have them all in the snail mail Wrestling Chatterbox Newsletter this month...  Following 3 brands now is getting to be a little impossible.

Monday's RAW did a 4.3 cable rating, with a 7.0 share. Last week's show did a 4.2. The best quarter hour was a 5.2 for the DX Reunion overrun segment.

ECW's second week ratings declined to 2.3, down 18% from it's debut of 2.7.

WWE's Saturday Night's Main Event airing on July 15th has been confirmed to air at 8 P.M.

Yet another article on Hogan's house, with all the publicity you'd think it would be sold by now.  Oh wait, you need 25 million to buy it.....

Thanks to Mike Informer for this article:
Mean Gene Trademark Trial - Day 2

Another couple of links from Mike Informer on Bret Hart
Bret (Hitman) Hart looked out at the large crowd waiting to get his autograph in the heart of the city's business district on Tuesday afternoon and couldn't help but marvel at his own popularity.   It's been six years since he last stepped in a wrestling ring but his appeal hardly seems to have waned.  From the guys at the front of the line who had waited hours to meet Hart to those walking by in suits on their lunch break, all seemed to be in awe of the man widely considered to be Canada's greatest professional wrestler.

NAC announces fall Broadway Series
The National Arts Centre will host three Broadway Across Canada series shows this fall and winter, opening on Nov. 21- 26 with the Billy Joel musical “Movin’ Out.”
Former WWE champion Bret “Hitman” Hart plays the Genie of the Magic Lamp in the family favourite “Aladdin” Dec. 26-31.
Rounding out the Broadway season is the Tony-award-winning musical “Hairspray”. Based on John Water’s cult classic comedy, “Hairspray” won eight 2003 Tonys, including Best Musical.
Subscription packages range from $137.10 - $226.20 at the NAC box-office, online at www.broadwayacrosscanada.ca or at Ticketmaster at (613) 755-1111.

Actual sales figures on wrestling books released in the last year have been revealed. Here are the official BookScan industry sales through June. BookScan accounts for approximately 80 percent of all retail and online sales - so you can tack on an additional 20% percent in sales on the following books:
Heartbreak and Triumph: The Shawn Michaels Story is the best selling wrestling book in the last year as it has sold 45,478 copies.

Cheating Death, Stealing Life: The Eddie Guerrero Story has sold a respectable 33,212 copies.
Superstar Billy Graham: Tangled Ropes was quite a disappointment. The book has only sold 5,232 copies.

Anemic book sales in recent years is the major contributing factor in regards to why WWE is shying away from publishing books these days. Also, wrestling book sales haven't been too strong outside of WWE either. Here are the sales figures on non-WWE published books:
Vince Russo's book Vince Russo: Forgiven - which was released in November 2005 - has only sold 1,145 copies.
Hardcore History: The Extremely Unauthorized Story of ECW - released in March 2006 - sold 2,615 books.

Bill Watts' autobiography The Cowboy and The Cross: The Bill Watts Story (which was released in January 2006) has sold only 929 copies.

World Wrestling Insanity - a book which pretty much rips The McMahons, Triple H and WWE - has only sold 537 copies in its first two weeks.

Mysteries of Wrestling Solved sold a respectable 1,367 copies in its first week (released June 6th).

A story on wrestling legend The Missing Link - Bang Your Head: The Real Story of The Missing Link - has sold only, and I mean only 78 copies. The book was released on April 1st.

For the sake of comparison, Hulk Hogan's 2002 book sold over 57,000 copies. Ric Flair's autobiography sold over 62,000 copies.
