On Oct. 31, when the Nets open their season against the Chicago Bulls, the Meadowlands arena named for Continental Airlines for 12 years will be rechristened the Izod Center.
Izod will pay $1.4 million a year in cash for the first two years of the five-year agreement, which will be cut to $750,000 annually in 2009 when the Nets are expected to move to Brooklyn.
The Nets, who made the deal through their naming rights division as the agent for the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, focused largely on finding a fashion company as the sponsor. The choice was from among the Izod division of Phillips-Van Heusen, Rocawear and Southpole, all clothing retailers.
In addition to the cash, Izod will provide marketing valued at $600,000 a year and $100,000 annually in uniforms for arena workers. Phillips Van-Heusen will also open five stores in the Xanadu development that is rising in the Meadowlands.

Funk's Corner - New Programs Offered at the Funking Conservatory
With the opening of our new 8000 square foot training facility, we are offering new programs. In addition to professional wrestling we are offering supplemental programs in Amateur Wrestling and Mixed Martial Arts or more known as MMA.
These programs are optional and are integrated with our professional wrestling training program.
Yesterday, Tuesday October 2nd marked our first training session in the new facility. Included in the building is our state of the art professional ring, a six sided mixed martial arts ring, multiple amateur wrestling mats, a huge video screen, seating for 300 people in comfort and even a snack bar serving hot food and drinks.
Now on our website we have the first photo of the new Funking Conservatory Training Center. We have a lot of work to do which will be completed well in advance of our first !BANG! TV Taping.

Danny Bonaduce and Jonny Fairplay had an incident. Fairplay was bombing on stage being booed and Bonaduce hit the stage. Fairplay jumped on him into his arms and started humping him. Bonaduce flipped Fairplay over his head, Fairplay landed face first, breaking some teeth, I believe on the microphone. Blood from his mouth was all over the stage. Fairplay supposedly filed a police report for felony battery against Bonaduce.

Pro Wrestling Syndicate will be running its next event on Sunday December 9th at The ECPW Arena on 87A North Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha NJ. WWE released developmental talent Keith Walker from his contract. Walker had been training in Tampa with Florida Championship Wrestling. WWE signed Walker last November, and he was originally assigned to Deep South Wrestling.
