It will benefit Ronald McDonald House CharitiesLegends Weekend at WWE Niagara Falls
World Wrestling Entertainment Canada Inc. and McDonald's Restaurants of Canada announce event to support Ronald McDonald House Charities
TORONTO, June 24 /CNW/ - At a press conference at the Toronto Eaton Centre today, WWE Canada President Carl DeMarco announced that WWE(R) and McDonald's will be hosting a golf tournament at Angus Glen in Markham, Ontario on Friday August 12, 2005 to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities.
On hand for today's announcement were Mr. Carl DeMarco, Mr. George Cohon, Founder of McDonald's Restaurants of Canada/Russia and Founder of Ronald McDonald House Charities in Canada, as well as WWE Superstars Booker T(TM) and Christian(TM).
"Building relationships with organizations such as World Wrestling Entertainment Canada is a great way for us to continue to provide much-needed services to children and families in need," said George Cohon, Founder of McDonald's Restaurants of Canada/Russia and Founder of Ronald McDonald House Charities in Canada. "We are grateful to the WWE, its Superstars, fans and supporters - we simply could not reach these special kids without your help."
Carl DeMarco commented," We are continually looking for ways that our WWE Superstars can give back to local communities and support charitable initiatives. We have long been impressed with the great work done by the Ronald McDonald House Charities and we're honoured to be involved with such an important and caring organization."
Several WWE Superstars including Jonathan Coachman(TM), Booker T and Christian are expected to participate in the golf tournament at Angus Glen on August 12. As part of today's announcement, Mr. DeMarco also announced several upcoming WWE live events that will be taking place in Ontario and Quebec this August. They are:

London, Ontario - Saturday August 13 (SmackDown!)
Ottawa, Ontario - Sunday August 14 (RAW)
Owen Sound, Ontario - Sunday August 14 (SmackDown!)
Montreal, Quebec - Monday August 15 (RAW TV)
Peterborough, Ontario - Monday August 15 (SmackDown!)
Toronto, Ontario - Tuesday August 16 (SmackDown! TV)
The Toronto SmackDown! show is scheduled to feature a rare inter- promotional tag match when Batista and John Cena face off against Triple H and John "Bradshaw" Layfield. Tickets for the Toronto show will go on sale on Saturday June 25 at Ticketmaster.
In addition to the live event dates in Ontario and Quebec this summer, WWE will be hosting the Legends Weekend at the WWE Store in Niagara Falls, Ontario. On July 22, three of WWE's Legend Superstars, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, "Mean" Gene Okerlund and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan will be signing autographs for fans at 4:00 pm. On Saturday July 23, several of WWE's top SmackDown! Superstars will also be signing autographs. (Time and talent to be announced.)
