October 9, 2005  WWE NO MERCY PPV

Batista will take on a so-called new and improved Eddie Guerrero for the World Heavyweight Championship at No Mercy Oct. 9.

Guerrero claims he's more about compassion instead of manipulation and looks forward to a great match with Batista, a champion he fully admires.

The rivalry between Randy Orton and Undertaker comes to a head at No Mercy as well, when Randy and father Cowboy Bob Orton meet the Deadman in a Handicap Casket Match.

Orton has been a thorn in Undertaker's side since coming to SmackDown in the 2005 Draft Lottery; after defeating the Deadman at SummerSlam, Orton looks to end his legacy once and for all this Sunday night.

JBL has fallen on tough times, and enlisted the services of Jillian to fix his image. JBL defeated Rey Mysterio in a Tag Team Match last week on Friday Night SmackDown; can JBL take another step in rebuilding when they meet one-on-one at No Mercy, or will the 619 conquer the former WWE Champion?

Since winning the United States Championship from Orlando Jordan at SummerSlam, Chris Benoit has made a habit of making the former champion tap out in less than a minute. All the while, Christian and Booker T sat on the sidelines, waiting for their opportunity while Jordan squandered chance after chance at regaining the championship. Their wait ends this Sunday night, as Benoit defends the gold against all three men in a Fatal Four Way Match.

Since losing the WWE Tag Team Championship to L.O.D. at the Great American Bash, MNM has tried unsuccessfully several times to regain the gold. This Sunday night, MNM has a chance at a small measure of revenge when they meet L.O.D. and Christy Hemme in a Six-Person Tag Team Match.

After throwing out an open challenge two weeks ago on Friday Night SmackDown, Simon Dean was overwhelmed and defeated by a debuting Bobby Lashley. Simon gets a chance to even the score when he faces Lashley again at No Mercy.

This past week on WWE.com, Hardcore Holly threw out a challenge to Mr. Kennedy for a match at No Mercy, with Hardcore wanting to shut him up once and for all. Kennedy accepted the challenge on Byte This!, telling Holly that he has freedom of speech, and no one will ever shut him up. Kennedy cost Holly his match with Sylvan this week on Friday Night SmackDown; can the undefeated newcomer keep his record perfect when he squares off with the Alabama Slamma this Sunday night?

Also at No Mercy, Nunzio will defend the Cruiserweight Championship against Juventud. Juventud won a Cruiserweight Battle Royal on this weekend's Velocity to earn the opportunity, and gets his chance to bring the gold home to the Mexicools this Sunday night.

Dont miss No Mercy this Sunday night, Oct. 9, live on pay-per-view from Houston, Texas. Click HERE to watch a video preview of the card.
