WWE NOTES & NEWS 1/18

Heidenreich released
Jan. 17, 2006    World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms with Heidenreich on his release from the company. WWE wishes Heidenreich the best in all his future endeavors.

The Monster Factory would like to announce that former Monster Factory student Cliff Compton has signed a WWE developmental deal. Cliff had worked for Old Time Wrestling, Wildside Wrestling, and several independent federations on the East Coast before moving to OVW.  We at the Monster Factory are very proud of Cliff and wish him all the best in the future. Link:   http://www.monsterfactory.com/

A few weeks ago I had posted that Kara Slice was signed to a WWE Developmental deal, but at that time the announcement was a bit premature.
Now I can say Kara has signed a WWE developmental deal yesterday, which has been confirmed by a WWE official.  We are in for a treat, from everything I hear, Kara is very talented and a good worker.  Good luck Kara.

Oleg Prudius signs with WWE
World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms with Russian amateur wrestler Oleg Prudius. Prudius was a special guest of Jerry Jarrett during an October visit to WWE headquarters in Stamford, and will now be heading to Deep South Wrestling to begin working under a developmental contract.

Drug Policy Update
January 17, 2006
WWE has been working diligently to complete its new wellness program for talent, which includes an aggressive drug and steroid testing program and heightened cardiovascular monitoring.  The company believes it has identified a third-party that will be able to implement the program, which will be done independently of WWE, and is going through final phases of its due diligence. WWE believes the program will be ready to implement before the end of the first quarter of 2006.

BYTE THIS today has Superstar Billy Graham and Maria scheduled @ 8 pm.  Billy will be talking about his book and DVD recently released.  (I am so surprised the WWE really hasn't given Billy's book or DVD much publicity at all.  But then Shawn Michaels' book didn't receive much publicity either.

Royal Rumble Press Conference
The Royal Rumble press conference has been announced to promote the pay-per-view event. The press conference for the RAW and SmackDown inter-brand pay-per-view event will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006 at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Fla. at 12 noon.  Superstars from both RAW and SmackDown will be on hand to promote the event. World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle, WWE Champion Edge, Triple H, John Cena, Torrie Wilson, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio and Mark Henry will all be in attendance. Jonathan Coachman and Michael Cole will host the event.
