"WWE Presents Madison Square Garden Classics" on Wednesday, Aug. 20th

WWE Presents Madison Square Garden Classics airs once again this Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET with two more hard-hitting episodes. Join “Mean” Gene Okerlund as he brings us back to two legendary events that emanated from The World’s Most Famous Arena.

The first episode of Classics will relive three matches that took place at the Garden on Dec. 30, 1988. Watch as the WWE Tag Team Championship hangs in the balance in a No Disqualification Match between the titleholders, Demoliton, and The Powers of Pain. Also witness Greg Valentine go one-on-one with Ronnie Garvin, and WWE Champion Randy Savage defend his title against Bad News Brown.

Right after the first hour ends, “Mean” Gene welcomes us back for another great episode at 9 p.m. ET, this time looking at three matches from Sept. 26, 1977. Enjoy a classic match between Bob Backlund and Larry Sharp, a WWE Championship defense by “Superstar” Billy Graham against “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, and a one-on-one bout between “High Chief” Peter Maivia and George “The Animal” Steele.
