WWE Smackdown! Results - 8/18/05
Toronto, Ontario, Canada

The fireworks went off in the arena for the start of WWE Smackdown! as Michael Cole and Tazz welcomed us to Smackdown, just three days away from SummerSlam! Tonight we will see Chris Benoit and Randy Orton face off in a rematch from last years SummerSlam!
In the arena:

The music of Eddie Guerrero hit in the arena as he made his way down to the ring. There is a ladder set up in the ring as Cole reminded us that Dominick is in foster care until this issue is resolved. Guerrero got on the mic and said that last week when Rey Mysterio called him out in front of his son and then challenged him for custody of Dominick at SummerSlam, and then called him a chickenshit, well Teddy Long was right. There is only one way to settle a dispute like that, there is only one match to settle this all, and that is a Ladder Match. He said they will have Dominick's custody papers hanging above the ring, and either he or Rey will pull them down and bring home Dominick forever. The fans chanted "Eddie Sucks" as he went on to say that he will be the one who pulls down the papers and gains custody of Dominick. Why? Because he loves his son, and he has lived with the truth all of his life, while unlike Rey, has not. He said Rey lied to his son all of his life, and denied him the privilege of being a Guerrero. Just as everyone knows, in life, the truth always comes out, and the truth always prevails over lies. Guerrero said at SummerSlam this Sunday, he is going to climb up the ladder, not because he wants to hurt or get revenge on Rey Mysterio, but he will climb the ladder for every father that loves his son. He said he will climb the ladder for his father, Gory Guerrero, for his brothers, and for Dominick Guerrero, who is going to be the best Guerrero of them all. He told Dominick not to be scared anymore, because at SummerSlam, he is going to come home with Papi.

JBL said he guarantees that he will walk away the World Heavyweight Champion, and how many of his guarantees have ever failed? None. JBL said he is a wrestling god, and tonight he is going to demonstrate how violent a no holds barred match can be, and he gets to pick his opponent.
