Jimmy reviews Velocity for 8/14
Velocity opening, with highlights of London's screwd speech from last week.We're joined by Candice Michelle, who provides us with ring announcing.
Paul London w/Pacman tights vs. Frankie Kazarian
WAKA WAKA WAKA! Wristlockery to start. Paul gets the mushroom stomp but Kazarian belly to bellies London into the turnbuckle. Kazarian gets a suplex for 2. He goes to the head...crank. Electric Chair Drop with bridge gets 2 for Frankie. Nice. London fights back, getting the dropsault. Spinning heel kick by London, followed by and inverted enzuiguri for 2. Face first slam by London, and standing shooting star press(!) gets 2. Kazarian goes for the ECD again, but London reverses, but gets caught in a victory roll for the pin. I WANT MORE, DAMNIT! London complains about getting screwed, and whines a bit. Great little match. ***
Nunzio w/ Big Vito vs. Jimmy Jacobs w/half leg pants
Nunzio slaps Jacobs around a bit, and snapmares him over into a knee drop. Nunzio rams Jacobs head into the mat. Jacobs misses a dropkick, and Nunzio continues to pound on him. Vito cheapshots Jimmy, and it gets 2. Nunzio chokes Jacobs on the ropes, and throws him out to Vito, who works Jacobs over while Nunzio distracts the ref. He goes to the chinlock. Jacobs fights back, getting a crossbody for 2. Nunzio gets a dropkick for 2. Scilian Slice gets the win for Nunz. Total squash. 1/2*

Funaki vs. Ken Anderson
Anderson does his own ring announcing for the match. Pink shirt guy is in the crowd. Funaki hiptosses and armdrags Ken a bit. Anderson drives him into the ringpost to take over. "You suck!" chant, which is always a good sign for a new heel. He beats Funaki around a bit, but gets cradled for 2. He clotheslines Funaki down and goes to an armbreaker. Funaki fights back with an enzuiguri, followd by 2 dropkicks and a slam. Funaki's crossbody off the top rope is reversed by Anderson for an extremely close 2. Funaki goes up again, but Anderson catches him up there, and fireman carry slams him off the top for the pin. He announces himself as the winner. Pretty good debut for Anderson. *1/2

Steven Richards vs. Hardcore Holly
Stevie is inexplicably a heel here. Stevie chops and mocks Holly, which is never a good idea. Bob shoulderblocks him and tears off the bWo shirt. He chops Richards around the ring. Top rope nut shot. Stevie dropkicks Hardcore's knee, and works it over. Figure 4 is reversed, but Stevie just kicks Holly's knee and then removes the knee pad. Nice. Romero keeps calling Holly 'the Alabama Slamma". Holly fights back with elbows. Uncle Slam for 2. Alabama Slam finishes, to presumably kill the bWo. **
Overall thoughts: Pretty good Velocity. London's heel turn is coming along nicely, and I like Ken Anderson. I wish Stevie had won, but we know how much WWE loves Hardcore Holly...
