Including WWE Biggest Fan Video’s…..

Words from a 'sore loser.'
If you are reading this, you probably know the back story behind it all. I placed as the second runner up in the WWE's Biggest Fan contest. Apparently, however, I came off as a stuck up, cocky, sore loser. Maybe after reading this, people will be able to understand my side of things. More on that later. Lately I decided, however, that I was going to let the contest go. It was over and I didn't want to focus on the disappointment that I experienced that weekend. I chose to focus on how good Summer Slam weekend was. However, apparently some people don't want to let it go. Along with not letting it go, my name is being stomped on by another finalist from that weekend. So here I am to give you my opinions and experiences from that weekend.
Anyone who knows me knows how important this contest was to me. As soon as the press release was posted on WrestlingFigs.com I had my sights set on it. It's all I have literally been talking about for the past 3 months. I was called 'cocky.' Anyone who has talked to me in the past three months knows that I was NOT cocky regarding this contest. I wasn't even for sure that I was going to be in the finals. When I got the email stating I was in the finals, I ran through the house screaming from excitement. If I was 'cocky from the start' as Ashley said, my reaction would have been a little bit different I believe. The one thing that I did know from the beginning thought was that I deserved it. My life has revolved around WWE for the past 20 years. I'm only 22. I remember, at two years old, being at Toys R Us looking for WWE action figures. I've collected anything and everything WWE for those 20 years. I wasn't always able to go to a lot of events when I was younger, but when the opportunity presented itself, I made sure I was there. My first wrestling event I actually remember, I was 2 1/2 years old. Once I started driving, I started going to more and more WWE. Now, I go to about 50 shows each year, including around 10 pay per views. I always sit within the first couple of rows. I'm not rich. I'm far from it. Pretty much every spare cent I have goes in some way to WWE. It's hard for me to imagine it being any other way. There are times that I've been out of state for WWE and had to choose either buying a ticket to Raw or having lunch that day. I would choose Raw every time and do without lunch. There are many friends out there that have been with me and can vouch for that. WWE is my life. It's the way it has always been and probably will be that way for a long while. I see no change in sight.
Getting back to the contest. Once the finalists were determined, WWE got into contact with us. First I have to say, that WWE was AWESOME throughout everything. The person in charge of booking our travel was amazing. She was very accessible, friendly, caring, and outgoing. I was planning on going to Raw in Boston the night after Summer Slam. However, we were going to be booked to fly home that Monday morning. I told her I had planned on going to Raw the following night. What did she do? She changed my flight for me so I could fly home out of Boston on Tuesday instead of flying home from New York City on Monday morning. I can't say enough kind words about her and all of the people that were in charge of the weekend. We flew in Friday morning. We had a transportation service waiting for us when we landed. That was very nice because otherwise we would've had to find our way into downtown which would've been a very hefty cab fare. We got to the W hotel in Times Square which was VERY nice. We checked in and received a cool WWE book bag with 2 t-shirts, 2 hats, and some other things inside. We really didn't have much time until we had to meet back down in the lobby and go over to the Spotlight Live Club for the finals. My friends and I just hung out in the room until it was time to go back down. It was interesting to see all of the other finalists once we got back down in the lobby. Some people I recognized, some people I didn't. I was more nervous in those few hours leading up to the finals than I probably had ever been before in my entire life. We got to ride in a limo over to the place which was pretty cool as well. We arrived and it was time to 'walk the red carpet.' I had high expectations for this and was a little let down. We pretty much got out of the limo and were booed by the people waiting in line because they thought we were wrestlers at first, and then walked from the limo door into the club. In total, about a 20 foot walk. Not too much of a red carpet. When we got inside the doors, they had a cool WWE's Biggest Fan background set up for pictures. We got some group shots taken in front of that and were on our way to the VIP part of the club. We hung out there and had access to an open bar which was nice. We were told when Chris Pontius was getting ready to be introduced, to meet the WWE person at the elevator and we would be taken backstage. We got backstage and did nothing. We just sat there while Chris Pontius performed. BTW, anyone that was there knows how bad the Chris Pontius performance was. He was booed out of the building, including You Suck chants. Gotta love New York City fans! Once Pontius was done 'performing' we were escorted out to our seats next to the stage. At that time, the Coach introduced the three judges, Batista, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and John Cena. The first five people had their videos introduced by Lilian Garcia. The next five were introduced by Kristal. Finally, the final five, including mine, were introduced by Jimmy Hart. Onto the judging. I felt the judges were being completely fair and honest. If you saw the 'top 15' videos you would understand why some of the judges had negative things to say. This was the finals of the contest for WWE's BIGGEST Fan.. To say you are the Biggest fan of something, you better be able to back it up. A lot of the videos just were not able to. I'm sure there wasn't a person in the building that would disagree that a few of them DID NOT belong in the finals. When you are being judged publicly for something, you better be ready to take the criticism if that is what is being offered. It's like American Idol. People have to know going in that there's a good chance they are going to get ripped on. When the entire crowd is chanting You Suck at someone, you should understand that the judges probably aren't going to be very kind. That's just the way it is. Does that make those three bad people? Absolutely not. They were given a job to do. My video played and the judges all made their comments. Batista said that I had a lot to live up to seeing how I was dressed. I had a white suit that had WWE's Biggest Fan airbrushed on the back, and the WWE, ECW, Raw, and Smackdown logos airbrushed on the front. He said I didn't disappoint. Stone Cold Steve Austin said I had the best collection of anyone there and that it was awesome that I had been a fan from the beginning. Onto John Cena. He said I had all of the 'documentation' to prove of what I had been to. He said I had like 9 million pay per view chairs, etc. Then came the comment that apparently is getting some criticism. He said.... "Some might think that he lacked a little bit of enthusiasm, I know this kid, that's as enthusiastic as it gets!" Okay, let me be the first to tell you. I am NOT friends with John Cena. We do not hang out. How does he know me? He sees me everywhere. I've met him probably over 100 times. After a while, the wrestlers obviously start recognizing people. That's how he 'knows' me. Is it my fault that I go to so much WWE that people recognize me? Absolutely not. If anything, that just shows even more proof of my passion and dedication. After the videos all played, the judges left. Coach came back out and announced the top three. I was the third person announced. At this point I was beyond nervous. I was literally shaking. Based on crowd reaction, what the judges said, and the other two videos that were chosen, I thought there was a decent chance I could win which made me even more nervous. We got back on stage, and Coach announced the 2nd runner up, me obviously. Was I disappointed? Of course I was! Who wouldn't be disappointed at something like that? Was I mad? Yes I was. I'll be the first to tell you that. Does that make me a sore loser? I guess you can be the judge of that. The final three had to go upstairs and do some media stuff. When I finally was able to leave, I had people waiting outside for me. Fans, WWE executives, and friends were all telling me that I got screwed out of the victory.
Onto the sore loser part of things apparently. This is my opinion. As I said, if someone wants to consider me a sore loser based on what I'm about to say, then I guess everyone has their own opinion. Do I think I got screwed? Yes I do. Maybe people will be able to understand why I feel the way I do a little better after reading this. . Don't mistake what I'm about to say. I'm not dogging on the top two videos. Both were good in their own ways.
First runner up..... The Wrestlers Speak..... Impersonations... Anyone who has watched WWE before can do impersonations. Of course, some are going to be better than others. However, anyone can do an impersonation. Does that make you WWE's Biggest Fan? If anyone is being completely honest, then the answer is no. I can do a great impersonation of ______________. Does that make me their biggest fan? Of course not. Here is the link to the first runner up's video.
Grand Prize Winner named WWE's BIGGEST FAN and awarded 25 thousand dollars...... I'll be the first to admit. This was the most entertaining video. It was the best put together. Once again though. Does that make him WWE's Biggest Fan? To me it doesn't. Had I known the winner was going to be based more on 'best produced video' and not the biggest fan, then I would have went in a completely different direction with my video. Here's the link to his video...
Now. For comparison sakes. Here is the link to my video....
Am I only the person that feels the incorrect finalist was chosen as the winner? Absolutely not. Look at the footage if you have WWE 24/7. The winner gets booed. As I said, I'm not typing this to complain. The only reason I'm typing this is because I felt my name was being stomped on and that I was being unfairly judged by people based on one girl's opinion of me. Maybe after reading this, and viewing the videos, people can understand why I was upset. As I said, I'm over it. I had a GREAT weekend. One that I'll never forget for both good and bad reasons. Thanks to WWE for all that they did for me that weekend. It was a great experience. I also want to thank Georgie for letting me offer my defense on the contest and the situation. I would love to hear anyone's opinion that read this. Thanks!
John
