YET ANOTHER FANS OPINION ON SIGNINGS AND CONVENTIONS

……..

I just wanted to let you know that I ordered 3 tickets for that Scott Steiner signing in NJ and I got a full refund the day I saw it got cancelled on WrestlingFigs.com

Now as far as the letters you have been receiving from fans giving up on wrestling and its conventions I thought I'd give my opinions. Now I see where some people complain about the steep prices of autographs. I often wonder why I shell out all this money and so do some of my friends and family. The answer is simple: the memories. I've been watching sports all my life and as I've gotten older I have been priviledged to meet some of my sports idols. I was heavy into collecting baseball autographs but those prices have gotten severely ridiculous over the last decade so I turned to my old reliable..pro wrestling. The thought of paying $150 for 10 autographs appealed to me a lot more than $150 for one autograph. But meeting them and having pictures to show and stories to tell was worth every penny. I haven't met one unfriendly wrestler in all of the years I've been attending these conventions and signings but I can name many other sport stars who were rude or wouldn't even give you the time of day. And most forget these people who run these conventions are running a business. Though we may not agree with how some run their businesses, it's their money and reputations on the line to sell a product worthy enough to get you to come visit and spend your hard earned money and hopefully return the next time. I've been to conventions that were run smoothly and ones that were complete hell. But sometimes you need horrible ones to remind you of who has the ones worth spending your money. Wrestlingfigs.com has been such a valuable tool in helping me meet most of my wrestling heroes and also finding these conventions. And granted the business has taken a few chairshots (Benoit, steriods) lately but we also have to take into account the good as well ( Make A Wish, Tribute To The Troops). But the business will pick itself up, dust off and return the glory that its had in the past. Legends will pass their torches and step down and the future stars will step up into the spotlight. And hopefully there will be more good conventions to attend. For those who are bitter towards the prices, the talent selections and the business.....shut up and do something about it.  Learn from the the mistakes of others and make things better for you, your fellow fans and the wrestlers. Actions do speak louder than words. If thats too much for you then get off the line, more memories for me.
