Georgie...

Just wanted to let you know that I attended DR2 with my wife and couple friends.  We all drove 4 hours each way from northern Illinois, cause the event looked to be awesome.

With all said and done, we had a great time meeting all of the wrestlers that did attend, despite the high amount of no-shows (due to no fault of their own I'm sure).

The wrestling card itself was cut very short - with several of the big names, Rosey and Knobbs in particular - not even getting in the ring, due to the situation in the back lobby.

Most details are available on the wcwarulz.com website message board.  But the bottom line is that many of the superstars did NOT get paid, and/or were shorted, which led to the police being called, the ring and belts being held by the venue for lack of payment.  And promoter Rob Reeder had fled the arena, leaving his wife, Amanda, to shoulder the heat from everyone!  This, only one day after she surprised him by inducting him into his own Hall of Fame.

We spent Friday night and practically all of Saturday hanging with Jarred Martel, the late Sensational Sherri's son.  What an awesome guy, and what a touching tribute that was done on Friday night.  So sad that even the Martel family couldn't get paid.  Their 18 hour drive home must be very bittersweet.

When we signed up for our platinum packages, I spoke with Rob Reeder personally (and several times since).  I showed him pictures of custom toy rings that I've been putting together for autographs.  He agreed to pre-sell some for me, as well as sell them on his table at the fan fest, and we'd split the profit.  Needless to say, I did take a small hit on the transacation, as the money collected at the gimmick table disappeared (taken by Rob) by the time the final match ended.  Several of the remaining family members/friends apologized up and down for what went down, and I appreciate their efforts.  (Thanks Hogg.)

While my monetary loss was very minimal, I feel the worst for the talent that put their lives and careers on the line by performing, and not receiving their just payment.

Rumor has it that the venue was secured for 3 years by Rob Reeder.
We won't be back for a Dream Reunion 3, which I'm hoping won't even ever happen.

Thanks...

Rob K.
